Captain Cook came with the first fleet to Australia in 1788. When the
aborigines saw these white men coming they thought they were their
ancestors coming from the dead as white men. Later on they figured they were
humans but in white colour. They ignored these strangers so then they
would go back from where they came from. They were similar things
happening with the first people as the Chinese discovering Australia but
then leaving the place.

The Dutch arrived in 1792 and were looking for the land of gold which
was really Australia but when they saw the aborigines they weren’t
wearing gold so they thought it wasn’t the land of gold and left the
place.

In a result we can say that a few times Aborigines were in panic and
thought there country would be taken over. We can describe as extra lucky
but luck doesn’t last forever. We can also say that their land was
also a target.

The Englishmen tries to give them possessions to make them be civilised
but that was just changing the ways of their life. It wasn’t right.
It is like saying you had to like in a cave instead of a normal house
and use different things. Now I’m sure you wouldn’t like that. The
aborigines didn’t take value for the items and the Englishmen
witnessed the items left in the beach.

They aborigines didn’t know that the arrival would be a significant
day in history; the day that many would be killed, children taken away
from them and the many disasters. They would also be known as the bad
race.

The aborigines were tortured to death as a form of entertainment. Was
this right? There intestines were stretched while they were alive.

Look what the early Australians called entertainment. How dare they do
that?

What I have learned at school
By Robert Pottle

At school I’ve learned a lot of things
I really like to do,
like running in the hallway
and eating gobs of glue.
I’ve learned I’m good at making pencils
dangle from my nose.
I’ve learned to hum and pop my gum.
I practice, and it shows.
I’ve learned I like to cut in line
and love to cut the cheese.
I’ve learned to fake a burp, a cough,
and even fake a sneeze.
You’d think with all this learning
I’d be doing well in school,
but everything I learn to do
appears to break a rule.

Analysis
The poem above shows what a little boy has been doing at school and what things he has learnt at school. I like this poem do to the humour in it and also picked this particular song so I could rlate to our school how people cut the canteen line, how every five seconds someone will do a fake cough or sneeze and also student running like lunatics to there next class
