In todays lesson we did a practicle
The practicle consisted of what will happen to the following Metals if they were put in either Hydrocloric Acid, Sulfuric acid and Acetic acid

Aluminium in Hydrocloric Acid
- The efects were a distictingtive smell
-also there was a bit fo dissolving
Aluminium in Sulfiric Acid
-There were slow fumes and
-The foil drop to the bottom of the test tube
Aluminium in Acetic Acid
-Stayed at original piece

Magnesuim in Hydrochloric Acid
-Bubbling to the top
-Gas formation
Magnesuim in Sulfuric Acid
-Fizzing
-Bubbling
Magnesuim in Acetic Acid
-Bubbling
-Popping

Zinc in Hyydrochloric Acid
- Zinc was pulled to the bottom of the test tube
- Gas formation
Zinc in Sulfuric Acid
- Bubbling
-popping
-Gas formation
Zinc in Acetic Acid
- no reaction

In this lesson we fistly did some note taking on Naming Ionic Compounds. Then we had to see the results to our practicle in journal 2. In this we veiwed the results and here they are
1) The one with water had no effect it didn’t even change from the original peice
2) The second one had oil. This nail had rust all over it and some of the rust remains on the bottom of the testube
3) The third testube has silca gel which had no effect on the nail
4) The fourth testube had nothing in it, when we checked the effect after a while nothing has changed from the begining
We recorded all the results into our books

In todays lesson we had a substitute teacher because Mrs Freyne had something else to do. we had Ms Mitchie and she gave some work to do from the text( questions on the topic of Chemical Reactions ). At the End of the lesson Mrs Mitchie said who ever has not finished has to do it for homework.

In todyas lesson we had a Test on to wright a practical report. Some Paragraphs we had wright on were Hypothesis, Equipment, Result, Conclusion, Question, Variables and Discussion. This report was based around some poeple who had to jump to as far as they can. They had given us the us the names of the person the foot size and also the distance they jumped. This whole report wrighting test went for the whole period

Science Journal 4

In todays lesson we did another 2 practicles on was to see what would happen when you would burn magnesium. What we did was got a little piece of magnesium burnt it over the bunsen burner. It Then reacted with the heat and gave off light energy and heat energy. This material is found in Fireworks to make the bright colours. The second practicle we did was on Combustion we had a little but of lime water in one testube and made burn the other test tube with sulfur in it then we saw that the lime water transformed into a black colour.

Summery of second Project.
So far of what i have seen of tne second project is that i like it. It is more interactive and fun. i like the project and the practicles of this unit more than the old project. My group is helping also we work cooperatively.

Thoughts/feeling on second project & groups.
Some things i have on my mind are that i still don’t understand what our groups project it is, all i know that is we do proticles on the unit Chemical Reactions. My group is working really well some proof of this is that in the practicle of the nail we shared so we all could put something in one testtube also we all listen to each others views also that we give out our work evenly so that not one person has to do all.

in the second lesson we did two practicles one of them was what would happen to the four nails in each testube. 1st had water. the 2nd had nothing. The 3rd it oil and the last had gel. We are planning to leave it there for 2 weeks. The second practicle we did was to see a percipitate happen. After that we got our groups together and talked about that chemical reactions we had seen in the practicle.

In todays lesson we got into our new groups got our contracts and completed them. Mrs Freyne has assigned us our new projects which is chemical reactions. We wrote down some notes in our Pacing chart so we can start getting organised. We have also have elected our group tasks, Steven and Me (Abel ) are secutary, Maharshi is Team Liaison Officer and Samarth is the team Arbitrator. In the next lesson Mrs Freyne has announced we are going to start our practicles
